Well, I am sure it is without surprise that our August Teacher of the Month is Dr. Emily Bigelow!! I received numerous nominations from every grade level for Dr. Bigelow to represent WES as our Dragon of the Month. This speaks volumes of her hard work and dedication to our school, teachers, and students. As I crafted her teacher of the month's bio below, I used specific words and phrases shared by each of you. I know it will mean the world to Dr. Bigelow that this nomination is from much more than just the admin team.

Even before she officially returned to work in August, Dr. Bigelow worked throughout the summer to keep us connected with trivia night or virtual social gatherings. This helped our faculty get to know one another and become familiar with some of the technology platforms.

Dr. Bigelow has been available around the clock to help with instruction and technology support. She has provided multiple optional help sessions on specific topics to help prepare us to best support our students. In addition, she offered to lead a school-wide parent technology night to continue to support our parents navigate the learning platforms. This will increase student attendance and achievement

Through all the troubleshooting and continued professional development, Dr. Bigelow carries herself with grace and patience. She is very practical and understands a teacher's point of view. She almost always has the answer and if she doesn't she will find it and follows through with reporting back with the answer and support.

Finally, Dr. Bigelow is happy, positive, and always willing to go above and beyond. She is a safe place for teachers to ask for help or support and continues to help develop instructional needs and goals throughout our building. We are lucky to have Dr. Bigelow all the time, but she has done an exceptional job rising to the occasion of teaching in a virtual setting.

Emily, thank you for all you do! I could have written several more paragraphs of teacher comments but tried my best to summarize. We hope you know you are noticed and appreciated!!
