Activities for Westmeade Students

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a running club for girls in grades 3-5. Girls train for a 5k while learning lessons about friendship along the way. At the end of the season all GOTR teams in Middle Tennessee come together for a big 5k and celebration.

Speech & Debate

One popular after-school club at Westmeade is our Speech and Debate team. Our team is comprised of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. Activities include researching specific topics, collaborating to write essays about what students have learned, and practicing for a city-wide competition. Students on our team become excellent writers, speakers, and debaters! Our team meets once per week to prepare for our competitions.

Science Olympiad

The Science Olympiad team challenges students to complete fun events using their knowledge of math and science. Students develop problem solving and cooperative learning skills as they work with their peers to build, test, and prove their thinking. The club is open for 3rd-5th grade students beginning in January and ending with a district competition before spring break.
